Di-Spark Ltd – one of the Hampshire’s premiere precision engineering companies,
are sponsoring a young team of trampolinists from Priory School in Portsmouth.
The four boys – who only began trampolining 4 months ago, have qualified for the
national finals in Belfast, on the 24th March
The young team began trampolining as part of their GCSE PE IN September and had no
previous trampoline experience. They worked incredibly hard both in lessons and during
attendance of after school training sessions.
On Sat 9th Dec, the boys travelled to the IOW to compete in the regional round of the
competition. And positioned 1st in the team event, with 2 out of the four finishing 1st and
3rd in the individual event.
On 28th Jan, the team travelled to Gillingham, Kent to compete in the Southern Zonals
(national semi-final equivalent). Once again the boys won the U15 novice team
competition with one boy coming second in the individual event. All four boys progressed
into the Great British Schools Trampoline National Final after just four months of training.
On Saturday 24th March, the boys will compete in Belfast, Northern Ireland, competing not
only as Priory School’s first-ever boys trampoline team, but as Priory’s first-ever instance
of reaching a National final of any kind.
Di-Spark wish the Priory School team every success and look forward to keep up with their
achievements!
