The AS9100 (revision C) standard is a quality management system for aerospace manufacturing and was initiated in 1999, replacing the earlier AS9000 certificate. The aim of AS9100 is the standardisation and streamlining of aerospace quality standards across the globe, with the ultimate aim of improving safety, quality and managing costs via tools such as lean manufacturing and quality management.
