Spark Electric discharge machining – also referred to as spark erosion machining, sparking and spark edm, is a hi-tech machining process involving a billet of electrically conductive material submerged into dielectric liquid. The material receives the application of current discharges between two electrodes, resulting in the removal of material from the part and finally, producing a high quality precision component.
Spark EDM
The Spark machining process is ideal for the manufacture of components & sub-assemblies which are difficult-to-machine using conventional machining techniques, such as milling and turning, and facilitates the machining of complex precision parts suitable for high-end and hi-tech markets such as the aerospace & space industry, oil & gas prospecting & rigs, medical & surgery, defence & satellite, formula one motorsport, energy markets & nuclear engineering.
Precision EDM
The Di-Spark Group operate a round-the-clock spark EDM cell, using state-of-the-art spark erosion machines & employing highly trained, on-site staff and remote monitoring of the machines. Our quality management controls ensure that a high level of integrity is maintained throughout manufacture to ensure world-class excellence from start to finish.
